The Email Editor allows you to send yourself test emails. If you've been working in your ticket or virtual ticket emails and sent yourself that preview, you may notice that the attached PDF is blank. Don't worry! Nothing is broken. There is a reason for this, which we'll talk about further down in this article, but for now, let's get you the preview you're really after.
You can change the way your ticket looks by updating the ticket header and ticket footer images in Setup under branding. Make sure you've done this before you proceed.
To see your ticket pdf as your guests will see it without purchasing a ticket from the front of your site, complete these simple steps:
1. Click Tickets in the left-hand menu
2. Click the plus sign to add a new ticket
*This will open up the "ticket editor" window
3. Add your name
3a. Either by selecting a fundraiser/ticket holder from the drop-down box
3b. Or by selecting the option "new fundraiser"
*If you select "new fundraiser", it will open up "quick-add fundraiser" window.
4. Select the ticket you want to receive
5. Save
5a. Save Only
5b. Save and email the ticket to yourself
That's all there is to it!
Finally, the reason you're seeing a blank pdf in your preview email is that the preview images aren't really coming from your event at all.
This is the same reason you're seeing your guest's name as John even though you don't have any attendees by that name and transaction totals that don't have anything to do with what's reflected in your Transactions tab. This sample data allows you to test your emails without registered guests, a completed branding section, or real transactions.
When you create test transactions or tickets, in your actual site using the Tickets tab or the Transactions tab in the left-hand menu and the green plus sign, you'll see the data you actually enter instead of the sample data.
