Get your guests excited for the event & send any information (directions, parking, table info, etc.) and communicate WHY the cause is important to you!
EMAIL TIPS
PAY ATTENTION TO DESIGN
Invitees are 15 times more likely to register for your event if there is a consistent look and feel between your email and your event page. So what does this mean? Make sure the branding, the colors, the fonts, and the copy on your event page are consistent with every single email you send to your guests. Simple.
*This is easy when you use your Swell because they'll all have the same email header image you set in branding. Want to know how to customize your emails?
A FRIENDLY NUDGE (OR TWO) IS ALWAYS A GOOD IDEA
My personal favorites: “We’ve only got X spots left!” or “Ticket prices are going up tomorrow!”
MOBILE IS KEY
45 percent of emails are viewed on mobile phones. That’s huge. If the design of your email looks beautiful on desktop, but your invitees have to pinch and zoom to view it on mobile, you’ve already lost them."
COMMUNICATION
Tell your Friends Why they should give or buy a ticket.
HINT: It is the reason you are participating. Possible Reasons: - This is going to be a fun party — you want your best friends to join you! - Your dear friend is involved — you want nothing more than to support them! - You would like to WIN the event — how much can we raise?
Thank your friends publicly when they buy a ticket or donate.
Example Facebook Post or Tweet: “So excited (tag friend’s name) will be joining us at (insert event)!”
Email a personal Request
Email is still the most effective fundraising tool - especially for an individualized appeal.
